The row is SOC 13-1082, Project Management Specialists, which is broader than the project manager title. The band runs $62,890 at the 10th percentile to $167,040 at the 90th, and clearance status and programme scope explain most of the movement through it.

Baltimore-Columbia-Towson at $103,720 and Lexington Park at $103,700 are effectively tied, with Hagerstown-Martinsburg $88,600 and Salisbury $80,400 well behind. The important omission is that Montgomery and Prince George's counties — where much of the state's federal project management sits — are reported within the Washington-Arlington-Alexandria metropolitan area and are not shown on this table.

Substantially, and it is the defining feature of this market.
