Among Maryland-only metros, Baltimore-Columbia-Towson at $76,400, then Lexington Park at $76,170, Salisbury at $72,250 and Hagerstown-Martinsburg at $63,190. The highest-paying county systems are in the Washington suburbs, which BLS counts inside the Washington-Arlington-Alexandria multi-state metro rather than as a Maryland area — they are inside the statewide $77,680 but invisible on this table.
