State-approved training

Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)

Certified medication aide / technician

Nurse aide certification does not transfer automatically, but the process is usually straightforward. Most states offer reciprocity or endorsement to an aide who holds an active, unexpired listing in good standing on another state's registry, verifying it directly with that registry and adding you to their own — sometimes with a state-specific orientation or a jurisprudence element. What causes problems is an expired or inactive listing, because states generally require an active certification to endorse, and a lapsed one may mean retraining and retesting. Apply before your existing listing lapses, and confirm the destination state's rule first.
