The band runs $88,730 to $475,310 with a 75th percentile of $392,320, and the median sitting almost on top of the $128,660 twenty-fifth percentile indicates a sample weighted toward salaried academic and public-sector posts rather than toward practising partners.

Of the published rows, Oxnard-Thousand Oaks-Ventura at $535,800 is far ahead of Riverside-San Bernardino-Ontario at $80,750, with the statewide figure of $131,990 between them. Two metros more than four hundred thousand dollars apart in the same half of the same state is a sample artefact rather than a pay gradient, and no one should choose a market on the strength of it.
