Journeyman reciprocity is real but patchy. A number of states have agreements recognising a journeyman licence from named states, usually requiring that your licence was obtained by examination rather than grandfathered, that it is current, and sometimes that you have held it for a minimum period. Where no agreement exists, boards will often credit your documented hours toward their requirement while still requiring their own examination on the locally adopted code edition and state law. Keep certified hour records from every employer, and confirm the destination board's current agreement list before relying on it.
