Cape Cod leading reflects an older, seasonally isolated population with substantial rehabilitation need and a thin resident clinical workforce.

A location quotient of 1.71 — seventy per cent above national concentration — comes from three sources: extensive school-based services delivered under special education entitlements, a dense network of rehabilitation hospitals and post-acute facilities, and academic medical centres with large therapy departments.
