Do not rig it. Ask for shipping papers, a nameplate, a drawing or a calculated weight, or have it weighed with a load cell. Solve the geometry rather than accepting the tension. Options include a spreader or equalising beam to keep the legs vertical, shorter slings with different attachment points, a different lifting device, or raising the hook height. Accepting a shallow angle because it is the only convenient option is the failure being tested.

Stop the lift and hold. Nobody works under a suspended load, and guiding is done with tag lines from outside the fall zone. Bring the load down or hold it stationary, clear the person, re-brief the crew on the exclusion zone and the tag line plan, then continue. Interviewers ask this because it is the routine bad habit that turns a normal lift into a fatality.
