Junior reporting roles sit low in that range; senior analysts owning network and inventory decisions sit high in it.

SQL against the ERP or data warehouse, strong Excel modelling, and Power BI or Tableau are the technical baseline. On top of that: forecasting and inventory theory, familiarity with an ERP such as SAP or Oracle, and ideally a planning system like Kinaxis or Blue Yonder. In practice yes. BLS lists a bachelor's degree as the typical entry education for logisticians, and analyst postings almost always require one in supply chain, engineering, analytics or economics. Coordinators sometimes move up internally without one, but they need demonstrated analytical work to do it.

A logistics analyst usually focuses on movement and storage — carrier cost, network flow, warehouse productivity. A supply chain analyst typically also covers planning and inventory: forecast accuracy, safety stock, supplier lead times. BLS files both under SOC 13-1081, so the reported wage range is the same.
