The middle half earns between $112,380 and $137,610, and the full range is $101,920 to $163,600. Specialty rather than location drives placement in that range.

North Port-Bradenton-Sarasota leads at $134,470, then Gainesville at $134,270, Jacksonville at $133,810, Miami-Fort Lauderdale-West Palm Beach at $131,340 and Orlando-Kissimmee-Sanford at $130,640. The spread across the top five is under four thousand dollars, which makes Florida one of the flattest NP markets in the country geographically.

The risks are on the cost side rather than the income side, since property insurance and housing in the coastal counties have been rising faster than clinical wages, which erodes the tax advantage for NPs who buy near the coast.
