That is 24.6% below the national median of $62,890 — one of the largest gaps for this occupation nationally. The upper part of the band tells a different story: at $61,880, the 75th percentile is close to the national median.

Fayetteville-Springdale-Rogers, at $49,330, ahead of Little Rock-North Little Rock-Conway $47,690, Fort Smith $46,620 and Jonesboro $45,520 — under $4,000 across the table. North-west Arkansas out-paying the state capital reflects the corporate headquarters activity concentrated there and the in-house and supplier legal work that comes with it, rather than a general metropolitan premium.

No state licenses paralegals, Arkansas included — there is no board, examination or registry, and the role is governed through the supervising attorney's professional conduct obligations. Voluntary credentials are what employers use to distinguish candidates: the NALA Certified Paralegal, NFPA's registered paralegal credentials, and graduation from an ABA-approved programme. It helps meaningfully.
