The middle half earns between $47,800 and $62,790, and the full range is $45,490 to $74,340. That floor is unusually high because California requires a state certificate to draw blood at all.

Santa Rosa-Petaluma pays the most at $62,350, then San Jose-Sunnyvale-Santa Clara at $60,600, Santa Maria-Santa Barbara at $60,290, Vallejo at $59,920 and Napa at $59,840. The spread across the top five is under three thousand dollars, so choosing a hospital employer over a draw-station one matters more than choosing a metro.
