BLS counts warehouse managers within Transportation, Storage, and Distribution Managers (SOC 11-3071), with an OEWS May 2025 median of $107,230 a year, or $51.55 an hour, and a range of $65,120 to $194,900. That is a broad code covering distribution directors as well, so a single-building warehouse manager typically sits in its lower half.

Larger distribution centres and 3PL contracts increasingly prefer a bachelor's degree, and it matters more for moves beyond one site.

They own a building's output: labour planning against forecast volume, inbound and outbound dock scheduling, inventory accuracy through cycle counting, equipment and racking condition, and the safety programme.
